Tim Wu is a Producer, Director, and Director of Photography based out of Brooklyn, New York.

As a member of both the IATSE Local 600 Camera Union and Society of Camera Operators, Tim has been fortunate enough to make a living pushing the little red button on cameras and pointing them at things, including shows for HBO, Discovery, USA Network, A&E, Comedy Central and Animal Planet as well as various commercial spots for The Food Network, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Microsoft.

Tim is also the founder of the production company Illium Pictures and serves as the company’s executive producer, overseeing all of its commercial and narrative productions, where his background in the camera department has come in handy managing crews of all sizes, especially when ordering lunch.

Since beginning the company in 2011, he has grown its commercial clientele to include Google, Conde Nast, The New York Times, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Maybelline, Microsoft and many more. Tim has also since expanded Illium to offices in both New York and Los Angeles.

On the narrative end, Tim’s recent work includes LUCKY, which would have premiered at SXSW in 2020 had a certain someone not eaten a bat. He is also the producer of IMITATION GIRL (Frightfest 2017), which was acquired and distributed by Epic Pictures as part of their inaugural Dread Central Presents slate, and PROGRAM (NYFF 2018, HBO Latino FF 2018), which was acquired and distributed by Gunpowder & Sky. His development work on EXPATRIATES earned the project a spot as a finalist for the 2019 AT&T / Tribeca Film Institute’s Untold Stories Program and the recipient of a $50k grant.

Illium’s current development slate is being packaged by the United Talent Agency.
